The lake or “indian lake” as it was called for most of my life (but was always Qospem) is part of the identity of the Mi’gmaq from Listuguj. Everyone has memories of this part of my reserve from swimming to fishing, learning how to skip rocks or hunt tadpoles. I may paint this one again in a different season as it conjures unique memories in every climate.
