The Legend of the Star Husbands goes that two young Mi’gmaq women encountered two strange individuals who offered to be their husbands. The women agreed as they were handsome, the Star men took the new brides to their wigwam(home) and told them not to look under the great stone that was before their dwelling. After much deliberation the new brides looked under the stone to see the ground below them as if they were in living in the stars! They grew scared and demanded to be brought back and the Star husbands agreed bringing them back to earth and divorcing them.. ..
